Joel Osteen (April 11, 2025) Daily Devotional: The Mask of Shame

https://sermons-online.org/joel-osteen/daily-devotional/the-mask-of-shame Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. Psalm 51:1–2, NLT Today’s Word: Psalm 51 is the psalm in which David admits and repents of sins that he had covered up for over a year. He not only took off the mask of pretending he had done right, but under that mask was a mask of shame. “I can’t believe I did this. What is wrong with me? I’ll never become what I could have been.” The mask of shame will keep you from your destiny. Voices will constantly whisper, “You should feel ashamed and unworthy of being forgiven. Look what you did. You can’t take that mask off. You’re showing God that you’re sorry. You’re paying Him back for your sins.” No, the price has already been paid by Jesus. You can’t pay God back, and you don’t have to live guilty and condemned. You may have issues that you’re not proud of, that you’ve covered up. It’s time to take off the mask of shame. No matter what you’ve done, God has mercy for you. He didn’t disqualify you. Acknowledge what it is and ask God to forgive you and cleanse the guilt away.   Prayer For Today: “Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and great compassion that blots out the stain of my sins. Thank You that I can come to You for forgiveness and mercy and for truth in my heart. I ask for a clean heart and to walk in the joy of my salvation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”       Leave a comment Written by Joel Osteen Joel Osteen Joel Osteen Ministries Joel Osteen is a preacher who gives inspiration! Prayer for Putting on the Armor of God

This prayer is a great way to embrace what God has given us to walk in daily victory by putting on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17). This prayer is a great way to embrace what God has given us to walk in daily victory by putting on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17). Lord Jesus, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God because I know that my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world. Thank you that you have made it possible for me to be strong in your mighty power and to stand against all that the evil one would throw against me this day. In Jesus Name, I put on the belt of truth and pray that I may be centered in and encircled by your truth today. By your power, enable me to walk in your truth and to give no place to deception or the lies of the enemy. Protect me by the truth of your Word. I put on the breastplate of righteousness. I praise you, Lord Jesus, that I am covered with your righteousness today in my body, soul and spirit. I now pray that by the power of the Holy Spirit, my life would show forth the righteous fruit of Your presence. Guard my heart, for it is the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23). Strengthen and protect the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good and noble so I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy. I put on the shoes of peace. I choose to stand on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ and the good news of his amazing grace. In Jesus’ name, I claim over my heart and mind the peace of God that transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:7). I cast down every anxious thought today, and as I walk in the gospel of peace, I pray that you would make me ready to share your good news with others. I take up the shield of faith this day and in your name, I extinguish every dart and arrow by which the enemy would seek to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, or emotionally. I lift the shield of faith against every arrow directed at me, my family, my business, my possessions, or any part of my domain. I bind every fearful thought in Jesus’ name and choose rather to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). I put on the helmet of salvation and pray that you would protect my mind from thoughts that could lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive to Jesus Christ and to reject any thought that is not from You (2 Corinthians 10:5). Transform my mind by the power of your Word and grant me a hope-saturated mind so that I may truly overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). This day, in the name of Jesus, I bind and refuse all depressed, despairing, and defeated thinking. Finally, I take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Please give me the insight, wisdom, and revelation to wield your Word skillfully against every scheme of the enemy. Thank you that your Word on my lips has the power to defeat every attack of the enemy! Thank you, Lord Jesus, for equipping me with everything I need to win my battles this day! I praise you that I am protected today by the armor of God. I now claim your promise that no weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). In Jesus’ mighty name, amen!

Why did Jesus say, “Why have you forsaken me my god?”

Why did Jesus say, “Why have you forsaken me my god?” moments before his death? This was uttered at the peak of Jesus’s pain and suffering. His Father had taken all HIS protection away from Jesus to prove to the world and the devil that a sinless man could and would remain faithful to his very last breath regardless of any pain or pressure. If one will recall the challenge laid forth in the Book of Job. Job 2:3–6 Any bible version 3 And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil? He still holds fast his integrity, although you incited me against him to destroy him without reason.” 4 Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life. 5 But stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.” 6 And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.” The devil was not allowed to take this to its final conclusion with Job. Jesus had no such protection and felt that His Father had left Him to go the distance on His own. Jesus remained faithful to His death, proving that a man could do this and answering that final accusation the devil made so long ago.

Joel Osteen — The Power Of The Soil » Watch Online Sermons 2025

https://sermons.love/joel-osteen/3376-joel-osteen-the-power-of-the-soil.html I want to talk to you today about the power of the soil. You can have a good seed that’s healthy and strong, it’s full of potential, but if it’s not planted in good soil, it’s not going to become what it was created to be. The problem is not with the seed. A scientist could study the seed, run tests, they would find that it’s full of life. If it’s an apple seed, it has apples in it. If it’s a rose bush, it has blossoms in it. But if it’s planted in soil that’s full of rocks, weeds, and thorns, it may grow some, but it’s not going to produce what it should. It may survive, but it’s not going to be healthy. And it’s the same principle in life. You’re a seed. You are full of gifts, talents, potential, but if you plant yourself in unhealthy soil, if you hang around friends that compromise and pull you down, if you’re in an environment that’s limited with people that tell you what you can’t become, you won’t see the growth that you should. Not because there’s something wrong with your seed, you’re made in the image of God. The problem is with the soil. The rocks, the thorns, the weeds are choking the life out of your seed.  Jesus told a parable about a man that sowed seed on good ground, and it produced a great harvest, many crops. Another sowed seed on rocky ground, didn’t produce too much. Another sowed it on ground where the weeds and the thorns kept the seed from growing. All the same seed, what made the difference was the soil. The thorns are things like friends that keep causing you to compromise. The weeds are those co-workers that sit around and gossip all day. The rocks are those family members that tell you how you can’t break that addiction. If you hang around negative people, they’re choking out your seed, and those friends you’re tempted to party with, they may be fun, they’re popular, but what you can’t see is they’re a weed. They’re keeping you from flourishing. The environment you put yourself in is extremely important.
