Romans 12:1-2 urges all true believers to live out this yield of control on a daily basis. Paul writes, “Therefore, I urge you … to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

The “offering” part (v. 1) indicates the starting point of one’s relationship with God through submission to Him. The “transforming by the renewing of your mind” (v. 2) is an ongoing affirmation through the ongoing reading of the Word and the prayers of a person living a life submitted to Jesus in all areas.
